ST. GEORGE'S MARKET.
PREPARATIONS IN HAND. The workers for St. George's market met at Church House on Thursday afternoon to discuss the arrangements for the market to be held on October 11, 12, and 13. Originally the market was to have been held on October 4. 5, and 6, but the dates were changed at the request of the Horticultural Society. There was a good attendance at the meeting and reports by the various branches of the preparations were read and several new schemes proposed. It jis hoped that the market will be a I greater success than ever before. i Motions of sympathy were passed by I the meeting with Dr. C. T. Hand Newton in the death of his mother, and with Mrs Bagley, of Rakaia, in her illness. The next meeting will be held at Church House on August 31.
