PROGRESS AT SINGAPORE BASE.
i ♦ SHU' TO BE STATIONED THERE. LONDON, July 27. In the House of Commons, Sir Bolton Eyres-Monsell (First Lord oi the Admiralty), in a written answer to a question, said that the Singapore Base had reached such a stage that a ship was required to be stationed there, as at other bases. Consequently H.M.S. Terror, with 13 officers and 202 men, was being dispatched to Singapore, where the annual cost of her maintenance would be £ 13,900, exclusive of the pay oi the personnel. IHM.S. Terror is an old vessel formerly a monitor, of 7200 tons, anc now in service as a training ship anc gunnery drill ship.l
