MISS MARY PRATT.
RECITALS IN CHRISTCHURCH. A concert will be given in Christchurch by Miss Mary Pratt, the young Dunedin contralto, who has achieved such wonderful popularity during the last few years, and is now about to leave for London and Paris with a view to entering upon a professional career. A striking tribute to Miss Pratt's ability was the complimentary concert recently given her in Dunedin, when the Town HaU. accommodating 3000 persons, was filled. The tributes of Mr Peter Dawson and Mr John Brownlee have been widely published in New Zealand, and particularly their opinion that Miss Pratt's voice would meet with immediate recognition in Europe as one of butstanding quality. Associated with Miss Pratt will be Mr Rees McConachy, an artist of equal merit, whose brilliant recitals as a violinist have attracted attention throughout New Zealand. Mr McConachy has had several years' training in solo experience in New York and America. The programme will be completed by Mr W. J. Spratt, the Christchurch baritone, and accompaniments will be m the hands of Miss Blanche Atkinson. The box plan will open at Chas. Begg's on Friday next.
