BOXER'S WIFE BOUND OVER.
SYDNEY, July 27. ! Charles Purdy, the New Zealand boxer, former welter-weight champion of Australia, summoned his wife in the city court to-day, alleging that she had used threatening words. He complained that she threatened to shoot him and used foul language. The solicitor for his wife asked: "Are you frightened of your wife?" Purdy: "Yes. She is a bad woman and is likely,to do anything." He added that he was anxious to leave Australia and return to New Zealand. The Magistrate bound the wife over in a bond of £lO to be of good behaviour for 12 months.
