COMPETITIONS.
RICCARTON METHODIST CHURCHES. The vocal, instrumental, and elocutionary competitions organised by the Methodist churches in the Riccarton circuit for their members were commenced in the Riccarton Methodist schoolroom in Clarence road last night, and will be continued for the next three nights. The judges were: Vocal and instrumental* Mr A. Schnack; elocution, Mr L. N. Fleming. Following were the results of the items held last night:— . Song, own selection, boy or girl, under 11 years—Jean Marsh, 84 points, 1" Beverley Counsel!, 82 points, and Mervyn Clark, 82 points (equal) 2; Ina Brown, 76 points, 4. Vocal Solo, selected, open—Miss Eileen Leithwick, 88 points, 1; Mr C. C Marsh, 86 points, 2; Miss Merryl Duder, 84 points, 3. piano Solo, own selection, open— Miss Kathleen Moore, 90 points, 1: Miss Rona McLeod, 84 points, 2; Mr H. G. Stevens, 82 points, 3. Humorous Recitation, open, pwn selection—Mr Fred Stevens, 92 points, 1- Mr Ralph Leithwick, 90 points, and Miss Yvonne Dodge, 90 points (equal) I 2: Miss Grace Campbell, 81 points, 4.
