BOXING.

♦ SOUTH CANTERBURY T. CANTERBURY. A mec'lin™ of the match committee of the Christchm-ch Sports Club was held last evening, Mr C. H. Taylor, jun., presiding. Correspondence was received from the Timaru Boxing Association intimating that Tuesday, July 25, had been agreed upon for the South Can-terbury-Canterbury contests, to be held at Christchurch. It expected to send forward a particularly strong team, and that as it was over-stocked with light-weights, it was hoped the committee would meet it in the matter. It would also be able to send two light-heavy-weights. It was decided to circularise the trainers inviting nominations for the various classes to be contested, and upon receipt of the personnel of the South Canterbury team, to select a team to represent Canterbury. It was decided to hold the contests at the Caledonian Hall. Selection of contestants for a professional match during national week was left over.
