The late startei's at Shirley on Saturday had the better part of the drizzly weather when the qualifying round for the Denniston Cup was played in conjunction with a bogey match. Some good gross scores were recorded, including a 73 to P. R. Godby, who won the senior division off the live mark with 5 up, and a 74 to A. R. Blank, who finished all square from scratch.
