WRESTLING.

VARGA BEATS BLAKE. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TIUOEIiI > NEW PLYMOUTH. July 16. Count Varga (14st Glb> beat "Whiskers" Blake (lost) in an uninspiring wrestling bout by two falls to one. Varga adopted a policy of masterly inactivity, defying the more active Blake to shift him, but emerged twice to do a little damage with headlocks. Because of Varga's stolidity it was the least exciting bout in New Plymouth for many years. There was a lot of wrestling, however, and almost no showmanship.
