ERA OF PROGRESS.
THE PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, president of the St. John Ambulance Association, sends the following message to "The Press":— The new home of the association and the brigades marks an era in progress ana advancement of the work of the brigades. The new building may seem large, but the present growth of the association and its work will show that all the accommodation will be needed. Our. aim will not be further to increase the buildings to any extent but to establish flrst-aid stations in other parts of Christchurch, always available for attention to the injured and the sick. In the past the public has recognised the work of the association and has given us good support, and as our work increases we will make still further demands upon it. We feel that we can do this with confidence.
