A broadcasting station will probably be started in Whangarei shortly. An announcement to that effort was made by Mr J. Burfoot, to the Chamber of Commerce this week. Mr Burfoot said that a group of amateurs had a plant and intended, if possible, to come on the air with a power of 50 watts. Such a move, he said, was important to the district, and any help the chamber could give the amateurs when they applied for their license would be much appreciated.
