DRAMA SOCIETY.
TWO ONE-ACT PLAYS. "Godstowe Nunnery," by Laurence Binyon, and "A Marriage Has Been Arranged," by Alfred Sutro, two oneact plays, were performed last night by the Canterbury College Drama Society before a large and appreciative audience. The players in "Godstowe Nunnery" were Misses Dorothy Maginnjess, Molly Wilson, Lilian Cooper, Lorna Faigan, Esther Rose, Grace Burns, and Valerie Tennent. In "A Marriage has Boen Arranged" the part of Lady Aline was taken by Miss Dorothy Maginnegs, and that of Mr Crockstead by Mr C. J. Wheeler. While the scenes were being shifted durin" the interval. Professor Shelley gave a reading of a short monodrama in one act called "The Theatre of the Soul." At the close of the evening's entertainment, Professor Shelley paid a tribute to Miss Dorothy Maginness and her activities in the society, and on behalf of members he bade farewell to her. Miss Maginrxess, who for many years has taken an active part in the production and performance of works in the society, and who has for the last two years acted as secretary, is leaving for England, where she proposes to continue her studies.
