PAPANUI SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The Papanui School Committee met on Monday. Present: Messrs L. Claridge (in the chair), S. Craighead, C. Dyer, J. Cains, W. Sandford, G. Wray, R. Donald, and A. Nettleton. The headmaster reported that the roll number was 234, and the average attendance 218. At the request of the headmaster it was decided to procure an ambulance outfit for the use of the school. The request of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Council of Religious Education to give religious instruction in school hours was held over till next meeting. Messrs G. Wray and A. Nettleton were appointed a visiting committee.
