NEW IYA STATION.
BROADCASTING STUDIO I TO BE ERECTED. (I'RF.SS ASSOCUTJOK ffJEI.EOBAIi.! AUCKLAND, July 11. The proposed new IYA broadcasting studio will be erected at the top of Shortland street, near the junction with Emily place. The New Zealand Broadcasting Board is completing the purchase of a property previously owned by Mrs Haines, widow of Dr. Humphrey Haines. The price has not been disclosed. The section is of nearly half an acre. At present it is thickly wooded and has a three-storeyed concrete residence, damaged by fire, which has been unoccupied for many years. The Broadcasting Board 'intends to erect a three-storeyed building to accommodate the studio and the office premises.
