Friar Ilaro Dossi, the "Brave Friar" o£ the Great War, has died at Rovereto, in the Trentino, Italy. During the war he was a friar in the town of Ala, which was then in the hands of the Austrians. The Italians attacked, and Friar Dossi heard them coming. He coized a crucifix from the altar of his church and ran out to meet them. In spite of a pitiless barrage from the Austrian lines ne stood his ground, his crucifix raised 011 high, blessing the Italian soldiers as they rushed in and took the town.
