DEFICIT OF £4,127,748. POSITION MUCH BETTER THAN LAST YEAR. n'sirr.n tt.-mi asiocmtiox -»r ki.kctfuif i.F.cinAm—cur.'i (Received July 4, 12.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 3. The New South Wales Government's deficit for the financial year just closed was £4,127,748, compared witli a deficit at the end of 1931-32 of £14,227,844. Since the Stevens Ministry took office there has been a heavy remission of taxation and a large reduction in freights and fares. The deficit shows that the present budgetaiy position is better by ■C 10,000,000 than it was when Mr J. Lang left office.
