THREE CONCERTS.

* GRAND OPERA IN COSTUME. Having made the necessary arrangements, Mr Hubert Carter announces the presentation of three concerts of grand opera, in costume, in the Radiant Hall, on the evenings of July 18, 20, and 22. His grand opera concerts of last July met with much appreciation from the music lovers of Christchurch, and that has encouraged Mr Carter to present these forthcoming concerts on a much larger scale. No effort is being spared to make these concerts of the highest standard possible; to this end, elaborate costumes and stage furnishings are being employed. The programme will include scenes from "Madam Butterfly," "II Trovatore," "Lucia di Lammermoor," "I Pagliacci," together with Act 3 of "Faust," and Act 2 of "Carmen." The artists in these scenes will be assisted by a large chorus. Despite increased production costs, admission will be at the same popular prices. Further particulars will be announced later.
