OIL CONCESSION DISPUTE.

The Persian Government, replying to t!ie last British Note referring to the oil dispute, considers that the Permanent Court at The Haguo is not competent to examine the dispute, and reiterates that tho cancellation of tho D'Arcy concessions is justified. The reply threatens to bring to the notice of the League of Nations tho alleged threats of pressure by tho British Government, which is stated to be encouraging the Anglo-Persia Oil Company to resist the payment o.f royalties and income tax. A new agreement is suggested, safeguarding Persian interests. DEMONSTRATIONS IN TEHERAN. PERSIAN GOVERNMENT'S CASE. TEIIERAN, December 5. Free cinema performances, a few acts of hooliganism, with excited demonstrators tearing down the AngloPersian Oil Company's posters, marked the celebrations that continue in Persia over the cancellation of tho company's concession. In a letter to the company's residont director (Mr T. L. Jacks) the Minister for Finance explains the Government's case, the main point of which is that the Government does not consider it is obliged to recognise tho validity of a concession granted before Persia became possessed of a constitutional government. However, tho letter adds that it was the company's continual evasion of the Government's attempts to discuss fresh terms that finally obli ttie Government to resort to the annulment. PRODUCTION OF OIL. BALANCE WITH DEMAND. (Received December 14th, 9.30 p.m.) » PARIS, December 34. Tho British, Dutch, American, and Rumanian oil interests have reached an agreement on the measures necessary to balance tho production of oil with the demand. Rumania agreed to limit production to 18,500 tons daily, the limitation to take effect three months from January Ist.
