There "was an attendance of 6000 at the tennis Test between America and Australia on Saturday. The results were as follows: Singles. J. van liyn (U.S.A.) Leal, C. 10. Sproule (Australia) 9-7, 4-6, 7-5. W. Allison (U.S.A.) beat H. O. Hopman (Australia) 3-6, 0-1, 0-4. It. E. Amines (U.S.A.) beat E. P. Moon (Australia) 6-3, 6-2. Doubles. Allison and van Ryu v. llopman and V. B. McGrath 0-3, 6-4, 3-6, 5-7, 0-6, unfinished. Playing brilliant tenuis oil a class never before seen in Brisbane, the Americans made their Test position unassailable, but the Australians were not disgraced. A. featuro of Saturday's play was Hopman's form. Finding McGrath out of touch in the doubles, llopman took overything on himself, and volleying and smashing magnificently had the great American pair extended. In the singles also llopman played brilliantly, though beaten by the more severe and consistent Allison. Vines, in his singles against Moon, showed what a truly great player he is, making dazzling shots with the greatest ease. His terrific drives and serves won applause from the record gathering. The active and hard-hitting van Byn was too severe .for the neat and consistent Sproule, who played attractively. MATCH IN BRAZIL. (Received November 27th, 7.10 p.m.) SAO PAULO (Braail), November 26. In the tennis match between Great. Britain and Brazil, J. S. Oliff and E. 7\. Avory defeated Tvo Simons and Carlos Aravilia, 10-S. G-2, 6-4.
