THREE AWARDS TO CHRISTCHURCH. (MESS ASSOCIATION' TELSCifIUI.) AUCKLAND, November 27. Awards havo been mado in the 1932 competition l'or good journalism prizes awarded by the New Zealand Journalists' Association. The first prize was won by Mr A. N. Rut ledge, of the "Christchurch Times" and "Star," the second prize wont to Mi 1 C. IT. Williams, of The Pkess, Christcliurcb, and tlio third to Mr G. Bums, of the "Christchurch Times." This competition is held each year, and entries must consist of work done by journalists in the course of their duty, and published in a New Zealand newspaper. .Mr Rutludge's winning news story reported the tragedy in the mountains near Arthur's Pass in January of this rear, in which two trampors lost their lives. The prize-winning entries of Mr Williams and Mr Burns were both accounts of the wreck of the Union .Steam Whip Company's steamer, Kaponga, on the Greyniouth bar on May 128 th, 1932.
