CLAIM FOR INSURANCE MONEYS.
JUDGMENT FOR DEFENDANT. U'BESS ASSOCIATION TELEQBAM./ NAPIER, September 9. In a written judgment given to-day, Mr Justice Ostler finds in favour of the South British Insurance Company in the claim against it for £3oo,under a policy oil' furniture destroyed by fire brought by George Alexander Wilson, owner of both the house and the furniture. His Honour 'considered that plaintiff's story vas unbelievable, an.l said he was exceedingly tortunate that he Was \not undergoing imprisonment for the crime of arson. Plaintiff was twice tried on a charge of arson, and the jury each time disagreed. When the brigade was called to the fire, which occurred last October, there was a strong smell of benzine. The house was vacated by the tenant on Uio morning of the night of the fire, and plaintiff was at the premises an hour or two before the outbreak.
