YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS*. Markets were again active- on call yesterday, and prices generally werefirm at late rates, while further advances were scored by some stocks. New Zealand Government o£ per cent. Bonds, duo September, 1937, changed hands at £99 10s. Bank of Australasia shares, cum dividend, were easier at £9 Bs, buyers staying in at that price, sellers at £9 10s. Commercial Bank of Australia shares had dealings at 15s 7d and 15s Gd, market closing 15s 6d buyers, 15s 7d sellers. E., S., and A. Bank shares were easier at £4 15s and £4 14s, and there were further sellers at £4 15s, buyers at £4 10s. Buyers of New iSouth Wales raised their bids to £27 15s, sellers at £2B 7s 6d. Bank ol New Zealand advanced to 47s 6d, buyers staying in at that price, sellers at 495. Union Bank of Australia rose to £7 13s and £7 13s 6d, market closing £7 12s 6d buyers, £7 15s sellers. Miscellaneous. National Insuranco shares were fractionally firmer at 14s 4d, closing quotations 2d on either side. Buyers of New Zealand Insuranco raised their bids to 43s without attracting sellers. Dulgety and Company shares were firmer with dealings at £8 and £8 Is, and further buyers at £8 Is, sellers at £8 ss. Goldsbrough, Morts changed hands at 26s 2d und 265, market closing 26s Id sellers, 25s lid buyers. New Zealand Guarantee Corporation shares remained unaltered at 6s. New Zealand Refrigerating fully paid shares were fractionally weaker at 10s lid, and more were offered at lis, buyer? at 10s 9d —the 10s paid eased to 4s 2d and 4s, and there were further sellers at tho lower figure, buyers at 3s lOd. New Zealand Breweries shares advanced to 29s lid and 30s, and moro were wanted at 30s, sellers at 30s 4d. Staples had improved demand at 26s 3d. sellers at 325. Beath and Company cum dividend of 4 per cent., making 8 per cent, for the year, were firmer with buyers at 22s 6d, no sellers. Electrolytic Zinc ordinary shares had dealings at 17s 8d and 17s 7d, and more were offered at 17s Gd, buyers at 17s 4d —sellers of the preference reduced their limits to 265. buyers at 25s 6d. Mt. .Lyells changod hands at 225, 22s 6d, and 22s 9d, closing at 22s 5d sellers, 22s 3d buyers. Wilson's Cements were firmer with buyers at 33s 3d, sellers at 40s. Cornish Point Gold Mining shares realised 2d. Golden Points remained unaltered at 9sd. Waihis realised 16s 3d. Buyer's of Blackwaters moved up to 16s 6d, sellers at 18s. Consolidate! claimed buyers at 7a Id, but sellers were reticent.

SYDNEY STOCK EXCHANGE.

After the abnormal rush of the past week, the buying wave subsided yesterday on the Sydney Stock Exchange, although tho turnover was well above normal. Prices held well.

DAIRY PRODUCE. GRADING FIGURES. (IT.ES3 ASSOCIATION TELEGEAM.) WELLINGTON, September 8. , The grading figures of the Dairy IJivision of the Department of Agriculture for the month of August, 1932, show an increase for butter of 15.67 per cent, at 4207 tons (3637), and for cheese an increase of 80 per cent, at 432 tons (240), compared with the preceding season, lteduced to terms of butter-fat equivalent, there is an increase for the month of 17.600 per cent, over August, 1931. LONDON QUOTATIONS. The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following message from their London office, under date September 7th : Butter—lll p. to 112s. Market is firm. Cheese—White 635, coloured 57s to SSs. Cheese—"White 63«, coloured 67s to 58s. The market is firm. TINWALD CATTLE sXLE. About 86 head of cattle were yarded at the Tinwald saleyards yesterday, when a sale of springer cows and heifers was held. The quality of cattle was poor, and consequently bidding was not brisk. Most of the yarding was disposed of, however. ' A black cow in calf, sold on account of Mr h. Galletly. Haronan, topped the market, at £7 15b, while a good-looking: Jersey heifer sold on account of a Wakanui client brought £7 ss. The principal values realised were:- ' Heifers—ln profit, £5 5s and £1; coming into profit, £2 7s 6d, £4 17s 6d, £1 7s 6d, £5 Ss, £4 12s Cd, and £4 6s. Cows—Coming into profit, £8 17s 6d, £4 10s, £7 15s, £6 ss, £5 7s 6d, and £5 ss. An aged Shorthorn bull brought £3 2s Cd and a Jersey bull £l.
