TEST TEAM V. THE REST. (UMMID PEEBS ASSOCIATION'—fiT BLECTEIO TELEGBAPH—COPYBIOHT.) • LONDON, September 7. The M.C.C. Test team to tour Australia and. New Zealand began a match against the' Rest of England. Jardine, Sutcliffe, Leyland, Duleepsinhji, Pataudi, and Paynter were not available, and H. Parks had to bo included in the tourists' team. The festival nature of the game provides little opportunity to gauge the quality of the team. The Test team, first innings, made 213 (Hammond 4<5, Wyatt 81). Nichols took two for 43, Allom two for 42, Freeman four for 111. and Owen-Smith one for 14. The Rest, first innings, have lost three for 159 (Woollev 75, Valentino 51). • __ INDIA -V. LEVESON-GOWERJS ELEVEN. LONDON, September 7: Mr H. 1). G. Eeveson-Gower's eleven, playing All India, lost five wickets for 305 (Sutcliffe 106, Leyland 70).
