Lex MacDoiiald, the Dunedia boy soprano. is creating a sensation in musical and Press circles" here. A leading gramophone company after a test declared that his voice is on© of the I world's best. The company arranged an immediate contract for a series of recordings. The boy astonished the Director of the Conservatoritim wbeo he sang there the beginning of "Solveig's Song'' in the studio. He sang one verso, when he was stopped and was taken into the concert hall, where an audience of music teachers and professors of singing was summoned, and tho piece proceeded. The boy is regarded as having a wonderful weal range and musicianship. He aiso saxig "O. For the Wings of a Dot©" (MenI'dolssohn) and delighted his hearers.
