PRINCES AT MALTA
MESSAGE TO THE FLEKb HIGH STANDARD OF EXERGK3S& (BRITISH OFFICIAL WIHELMS.) (Received August 19th, 5.5 RUGBY, Augnst 18. M.M.S. Queen Elizabeth, with ilia Prince rf Wales and Prince Georga aboard mid living the Royal Standard, with the rest of tho Mediterranean Fleet entered the harbour of Malta oa tho completion of fleet exercises. Great, crowds welcomed the Princes. A Royal salute wa.i fired from the forts as the flagship entered. In a message to tiie commander-in-chief, the Prince of Wales said, ''My brother and I tf« very glad to have had an ogportanitvol' visiting the Fleet under normal cruise conditions. We are most grate* fid for being given facilities which mtahled us to visit every ship of the Mediterranean Fleet at Corfu, and we both have been really impressed with tho uniformly high standard in the appearance ot tho ships' companies mud tho ships' exercises at sea. Of tho greatest interest was the chance of seeing the pitch of efficiency which tie Fleet has reached. Would you please convey our great appreciation to sB. your command." Thanking the Prince of Wales, Admiral Chat-field replied: ' We are grat«v ful that your Royal Highnesses should have come sr> far to inspect us. and have been ready to inspect 46 ship* during the boat oi the Mediterranean summer. \\ e arc proud to recciv© voor approbation."
