LEAK AT ARAPUNI.

SEARCH CONTINUES. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TEL,EGr.,>.M.) 7 WELLINGTON. August 12. The search for the leak in "the bead-, race at Arapuni, continues. Boring operations arc still in progress in the bed of the race above the cut-off wall, and it has been discovered that compressed air passes between two bore holes, suggesting the possibility of a water path. Steps have been taken to block up t?ho suspected; pathway by means of concrete grouting. Mr ¥. W. Furkert, : eugineer-in-chief. Public Works Department, said this afternoon that he had been advised that the men on the job bad been able to got very little, grouting into the country, showing that it was not at all open. Although compressed air had been forced in in small quantities, they had not succeeded in getting water through.
