CROSS-COUNTRY RACE.

HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS. The Christchurch Boys' High School';! annual cross-country race was held at Ittccarton yesterday afternoon under excellent conditions. There were about 300 entries, and practically the whole of the field completed the course of about three miles and a half. The result of the race was:— 11. Ford .. .. .. I N. C. Trembath .. .. ':! K. W. Robinson .. .. :; The winner's time was 2-lmju i 4-Gsee. The course led from the school grounds -find through well-varied country in Iticcarton, a wator jump having to be negotiated a short distance' from the finish. Ford ran a good race to win the school cross-country championship for the year. The results of the junior championship and the sealed handicaps will not be known until tho times of the 300 competilors aro worked out and the ages checked.
