MUTTON AND LAMB
TAX ON FOREIGN SUPPLIES. QUOTA FOR BUTTER. (Received August 10th, 9 p. m .) LONDON, August 10. The Ottawa correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" states that the Australian negotiations havo raised some knotty points for the Conference. It is now regarded as certain that the Australian and New Zealand agreements will provide for a tax of three farthings per lb on foreign mutton and lamb, and a quota for butter. Tho agreements with the Dominions generally are expected to embrace a tax of threepence per dozen on foreign eggs, and a duty on foreign bacon and applos.
