GOLF. The Diamond Harbour Golf Club will play tho first round of a mixed foursome competition for the Godley House trophy on Sunday. N Players will select their own partners. The Lyttelton Golf Club will hold" a medal match at Charteris Bay on Sunday, and the championship round will be continued. Lodge Meetings. The fortnightly meeting of the Court Queen of the Isles Forester's Lodge was held on Tuesday evening, Bro. D. Smith presiding. It was resolved that the new insurance scheme be adopted, and that Kule 246 regarding sick members be enforced. The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Kaia-Toa Lodge was held on Monday, N.G. Sister J. Gilray presiding. An invitation to visit the Loyal Benevolent Lodge was accepted. After the business a most enjoyable evening was spent in games, competitions, and community singing. The programme was arranged by the married members. Returned Soldiers' Association. Mr J. Ooxon presided at a meeting of the Lyttelton branch of the Keturned Soldiers' Association on Monday night, others present being Messrs W. teous, B. Smith, A. Jones, J. Halliday, M. Nelson, H. Meade, and H. Batten (secretary). Mr A'. Fleck, president, and Mr E. Willcox, secretary, of the Christchurch Keturned Soldiers' AssocU tion, were also present, and gave particulars of the Poppy Day, Bridge rf Kemembrancc, and canteen funds allocations. They stated hat under the agreement with the trustees applications for assistance the Lyttelton Keturned Soldiers' Association would have to be considered by tho parent body, but £5 from the Poppy Day Fund had been granted for the immediate relief of distress in Lyttelton. The call for assistance upon tho Christchurch branch was very heavy, and was costing the 'association from 150 to £BO a. weefc The Christchurch officers were thanked for their attendance and explanation. It was decided to hold a membership campaign, and to call a meeting of »U ex-serviec men in Lyttelton. It was reported that arrangements were in hand for the association s, second annual banquet and dance The committee decided that Mr M.JNei son should act as president and Mr • Coxon as vice-president for the.remainintr half-vear. The use of the cluo roL"warranted to the Lyttelton brownies on Saturday afternoon.
