The barometer rose to 30.20. Wellington—Although it remained fine tho filcy \va3 overcast and threatening yesterday. The wind, from the south, was very cold. Early m tho evening eomo light showers fell. Dunedin—The weather yesterday was fine but overcast till the middle of the afternoon-, when a heavy drizzle set in and continued till nightfall. There was practically no wind. The barometer was high t'.ud fairly steady at 30.50: Forecast. General Situation—The anti-cyclone covering tho Dominion has intensified somewhat while tho cyclono to north-westward has remained practically stationary. Winds—Light to moderate and variable in tbo southern half of the South Island, elsewhere inoderato to strong oast to pouth-oast winds, reaching gale force at places in and
north of Cook Strait and Kaikoura; elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea —Strong east winds to Ifaleß in the northern portion with rough to heuvy seas; inoderato to strong south-east winds in the southern portion with rather rough seas. Weather—Cloudy and unsettled in the northern and east coast districts of the North Island with scattered rain, hut some heavy falls are probable in North Auckland; elsewhere fair to fine; cold temperatures.
