INJURED AIRMEN.
ONE LOSES AN EYE. Squadron Leader J. L. Findlay and Leading, Aircraftsman J. Simpson, who were seriously injured when their aeroplane crashed .at Hornby on Monday, are now out of danger, although Simpson's condition is still serious. He had one eye removed yesterday and it is feared that the other will allow him only limited vision. Squadron Leader Findlay was badly cut about the" head and has a broken nose, but' yesterday - his condition was reported to have shown a slight improvement. Squadron Leader T. M. Wilkes, Director of Air Services, arrived from Wellington yesterday morning, and visited - the two injured, men at the HospitaL An examination of the wrecked machine was carried out in the morning and an official enquiry will be held later, when, Squadron Leader Findlay has recovered sufficiently.
