THE KING RACES AT COWES.

ROYAL YACHT COMPETES. DEAD HEAT IN LONG RACE. (UKUEXJ PRE 33 ASSOCIATION—UY ELECTRIC rELEGBAPH—COPYRIGHT.) (Received July 29th, 7. p.m.) LONDON, July 29. The King embarked to-day in the destroyer Crusader, and went to Soutlisea, where his Majesty's racing yacht Britaunia took part in the regatta of the Royal Albert Yacht Club. At Cowes, the ftiag, wearing bright yellow oilskins, boarded the Britannia and raced in the Solent against Candida and Westward, and after a hard race the Royal yacht dead-heated with the schooner Westward, which started so badly that she had lost 339 seconds to Britannia at the end of the first round, but recovered brilliantly. A dead-heat is very rare in the long race, which was over a 40 mile course with a hard breeze, and in driving rain. Tho general opinion is that the King was plucky to sail on such a day.
