The Commercial Bank of Australia, Limited, for 1930-31, paid a dividend on its ordinary capital at the rate of 11J per cent. For the period ending June 30th last it is intended to pay only live per cent.,' which will account for £IOO,OOO of the £205,000 available for appropriation. The net prolit, at £190,070 for 1931-32, is contrasted with £308,450 in the previous year. The preference dividend, which is on a basis of four per cent., will alisorb £84,094. A cable received to-day states that Elder, Smith and Company, Ltd., wool brokers, Adelaide, has declared a final dividend at the rate of four per cent, per annum for the half year ended Juno 30th, making a total dividend of four per cent, for the year, payable September Ist, next. The net profit in 1931 was £99,820, and the dividend for the year four per cent. In 1930 the net profit was £128,724, and the dividend five per cent. For several years preceding it was 10 per cent.
