RUSSIAN REMANDED FOR SENTENCE. (PRESS i-SSOCIATIOH TILE&RAIt.) AUCKLAND, July 29. Charged with being in possession of gelignite and bombs/ with intent to commit a crime, George Sargiff, a Russian seaman, was found guilty in the Supreme Court to-night. Tho Crown Prosecutor said that when accused was arrested he had in his possession a small improvised bomb. A larger bomb was found in the room he was occupying. Accused had been interested in the manufacture of explosives, having studied bookg on the subject. The defence was that there was no evidence that accused was going to do anything except blow up fish with tho explosive. The accused, who was found guilty on counts of being in possession of gelignite and a bomb with intent to commit a crime, was remanded for sentence.
