JUSTICES' ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL MEETING. The 14th annual meeting of the Can-terbury-Justices of the Peace Association was held last night, Mr A. H. Hobbs presiding. The annual report and balance-sheet, already published in The Pbess, were adopted. The election of officers resulted as followsrPatron, his Honour Mr Justice Adams; vice-patrons, Messrs H. Holland, M.P., H. P. Lawry, S.M., E. D. Mosley, S.M., H. A. Young, S.M., and H. Y. Widdowson; president, Mr A. H. Hobbs; vice-presidents, Messrs F. H. Christian. G. E. Franklin, and A. Williams; Council, Messrs H. J) 1 . Herbert, J. Voss. G. Maginness, X'. B. Creswell, C. H. Gilby, and J. JHurley; registrar, Mr J. W. Baty; hon. auditors, Messrs A. Marshall and J. Mawson Stewart. Votes of thanks were passed to the officers of the past year, and to H. Y. Widdowson for his services as hon. solicitor. At the conclusion of the business, a number of films of the geyser district, Wairakei, the Southern peaks, submarine hunting, and other subjects were shown by Mr C. J. Treleaven, who was accorded a vote of thanks.
