The Social Committee of the Coronation Hospital wrote thanking the Union for tho arrangements made 'for the transmission to the hospital of a report of tho match last Saturday on the Lancaster Park Oval, the patients having enjoyed the description of the game by Mr Allardyce. The Sydenham Club wrote suggesting that a smaller number of tho Union's annuals should be printed with the object of saving expense to affiliated clubs. It was decided to bear the suggestion in mind when arrangements for the printing of the next annual were being made. The recommendations of the SubL'nions' conference were adoptffd. King's Birthday Matches. A protest against the playing of a round of competition matches on June 3rd was made by the Sydenham Club, who stated that a number of the club's players had to work on that day. It was suggested that tho North v. South Island match should be played On June 3rd instead of the following day (Saturday). It was decide'd to reply that tho senior matches would have to be played on June 3rd, but that the Competitions Committee would look into the question of arranging matches for the lower grades. Peninsula Suspensions. The Banks Peninsula Sub-Union wrote stating that T. E. Armstrong and T. H. Sunckel, of the Akaroa Club, who had been suspended until the end of 1933 for not signing an apology required of all tho members of their team, as some of them had hootod the referee, had not suffered any disqualification last season, the competitions being closed before the case was dealt with. He had cautioned the two teams both in the first and second spells. "It was a pinrprieking game all through," said the referee. "I had to watch'every player as he was tackled to see that lists were not used." Harper denied striking any opponent. "Have we any record of a caution being recorded!" asked Mr Hollander. "AH referees are required by the rules to record cautions." The chairman said that no notice of a caution had been received. It was decided that Harper be stood down for two playing Saturdays. Little Biver Protest. The Little River Club wrote protesting against the fine of 10s imposed by the Banks Peninsula Sub-Union for forfeiting a match against Port Levy in an end-of-season match for the Garidy Cup. The club also asked for a ruling as to whether the Candy Cup competition could be made, compulsory, as there was no special sot of rules governing the games and no entry fee. Mr Phillips moved that in the opinion of the committee the Little River Club, having given ample notice of its inability to field a team, the fine should be remitted; that it also should be advised that the Sub-Union should have rules to cover such a competition. Mr Moloney, in seconding the motion, said that the Peninsula Sub-Union was inclined to be a little heavy-handed. It should allow for some elasticity in the application" of its regulations. - Mr Phillips agreed to withdraw his motion, Mr Masters's suggestion that the Sub-Union bo written to in order to verify the date of notification of default being carried.

"Under Age" Competitions. Mr V. L. Jensen referred to the marked falling off in entries for the "under age" competitions. A number of teams had withdrawn from these grades since tho commencement of the season. "We do not appear to *have the hold over the younger players that we should," he said. The chairman: I think it is directly attributable to'the economic conditions.
