DEATH AFTER COLLISION.
WIDOW AWARDED £1230. (rsßss ASSoriA.no* , TELSaa.vu.) INVEECAEGILL, May 9. After a shor-t retirement, damages amounting to £1250, apportioned in the ratio of two-thirds to the widow and one-third to the child, were awarded by the jury in the Supremo Court to-day to Muriel. Ida Smith, of Ashburtoh, widow, who sought to recover from Lawrence Arthur Eddy, of Invcrcargill, a taxi-driver, £2OOO, for tho death of her husband. The latter, when riding a motor-cycle on July 7th, 1931, collided with defendant's motor-car, and diod from hie injuries. '
