Governor Roosevelt's aspirations for the Democratic nomination for the Presidency were brought a step nearer realisation to-day, when he defeated the Speaker of the House of Representatives (Mr J. N. Garner), in the Georgia Primaries, by an approximate' vote of ten to one.
