CAR OVERTURNS IN ARTHUR'S PASS. ELDERLY ASHBURTON MAN KILLED. Mr William Bowden, an elderly accountant, of Havelock street, Ashburton, was killed early last evening when a car, driven by his son, Mr W J. Bowden, jun., overturned on the road between Arthur's Pass and Otira. The driver and the other passengei, Mrs Bowden, sen., were unhurt. The car, a Whippet five-seater was proceeding from the Pass to Otira, reaching the top of the zig-zag hill about 5 p.m. Mrs Bowden was sitting beside the driver and Mr Bowden sen., was in the back seat.
