MR AMERY'S VIEWS. CONSEQUENCES OP FAILURE EMPHASISED. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTRIC telegraph— copyright.) LONDON, March 15. "If tho Ottawa Conference fails the consequences will be disastrous to the Empire, which will have begun a process of disruption," so Mr L. C. M. S. Amory told a Conservative meeting at King's College. "Tho Freo Trade inhibition," he said, "killed previous conferences. It is rumoured that certain members of Cabinet will resign if wheat and meat preferences are granted to the Dominions, and they do not even wish to discuss the subject at Ottawa. Such a policy would be fatal. Wo must meet the Dominions moro than half-way."
Preparing for Ottawa. A British Official Wireless message reports: Tho Prime Minister (Mr Bamsay Mac Donald) to-day stated that almost immediately after tho Government was formed a Cabinet Committoo was appointed to supervise the preparations for the 'Ottawa Conference, so far as tho Government in tjjio United Kingdom was concerned. It had been continuously at work since thon. The composition of tho United Kingdom delegation to Ottawa had not yet been considered by .Cabinet.
