——♦ • MR A. J. FRASER. (united rRSSS ' associatiox-b* electric TELEGRAPH —COPYRIGHT.) LONDON, March 15. Tlio doath lias occurred of Mr Alexander J. Fraser, a former manager of tlie New Zealand Press Association at Sydney. He was buried in Greatness Cemetery, near Oxford. The Australian Press, the Empire Press Union, and Dominion newspapers were represented, numerous wreaths being sent by Australian and New Zealand friends. Mr Fraser (who was born in Wellington) commenced his journalistic career in the office of the United ''Press Association, in "Wellington, where he was employed first as assistant messenger and later as a member of the staff. He was appointed manager of the Sydney office in 1888, and joined the Australian Press Association staff in Loudon in 1906. Some years ar;o he was appointed manager of the London office of the Melbourne "Argus." M. GEORGES M. HAARDT. (Received March 16th, 7 p.m.) HONG-KONG, March 15. The death occurred to-day, following a brief attack of pneumonia, of M. Georges Marie Haardt, leader of the French scientific expedition across Asia. The hardships of the expedition had undermined his health. REV. BROTHER CALIXTUS. (MESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) AUCKLAND. March 16. The deatl} is announced of the Rev. Brother Calixtus, Director of the Marist Brothers School, and formerly of Invercargill and Christchurch. Death followed a stroke on returaini; fiom the swimming sports last nijght. Brother Calixtus was a noted Rugby coach and had a brililant scholastic record.
