MR E. J. ALLEN. trBMSg ASHOCIATIO* TILB3SAJI.) NELSON, December 14. TJio death occurred yesterday of Mr E. J. Allen, a retired bank manager. As manager,of the local branch of the Bank of New Zealand, lie was closely associated with tho business development of the city. Joining the bank at Westport, Mr Allen, who was a son of Mr-G. Allen, one of Wellington's early settlers, was stationed at Greymoutli, Hokitika, Kumara, Reefton, Masterton, Wellington, Opunake, Feilding, and New Plymouth. He came to Nelson in 1901. Mr Allen was in his eightieth year. He leaves a widow and one son, Mr K. Allen, of the Bank of New Zenland at Featherston. DR. R. H. TODD.
