MR E. J. ALLEN. trBMSg ASHOCIATIO* TILB3SAJI.) NELSON, December 14. TJio death occurred yesterday of Mr E. J. Allen, a retired bank manager. As manager,of the local branch of the Bank of New Zealand, lie was closely associated with tho business development of the city. Joining the bank at Westport, Mr Allen, who was a son of Mr-G. Allen, one of Wellington's early settlers, was stationed at Greymoutli, Hokitika, Kumara, Reefton, Masterton, Wellington, Opunake, Feilding, and New Plymouth. He came to Nelson in 1901. Mr Allen was in his eightieth year. He leaves a widow and one son, Mr K. Allen, of the Bank of New Zenland at Featherston. DR. R. H. TODD. Todd, aged 72 years, who for 23 years was secretary of the New South Wales Branch of the British Medical Association until his retirement this year. He was formerly a lecturer on medical jurisprudence at the, Sydney University.
