UNPRECEDENTED DISTRESS 900,000 PEOPLE FACE * STARVATION. (united press association—bv electjuq TKLSGSATH—COPIBIOai.) (Received December Bth, 11 p.m.) TOKYO, December 8. Officials in Aomori are appealing to the Government to grant 20,000,000 yen to relieve 900,000 inhabitants of the Prefecture,, who are facing starvation, and tho worst famine for many years. There is unprecedented distress. The Imperial Household has granted monetary relief, and sent an officer to investigate conditions.
