ARANUI SCHOOL FAIR.
A SUCCESSFUL DAY. lo raise funds lo provide a tennis court at thof school members of. the Aranui School Committee organised a. successful (air on the Aranui School grounds on Saturday afternoon. lhe chairman (Mr 11. Rowse) welcomed the large number present, and after explaining the object of the function thanked the New Brighton Municipal Band for their attendance. The speaker introduced Mr D, G. Sulilisan, M.P. (Mayor of Christchurch), who referred to the necessity for young people to play games. In declaring tha fair open Mr Sullivan congratulated the committee on tlmir efforts and wished them success. The Mayor of New Brighton, Mr IC. A. M. Leaver, who attended with Miss Lever, Baid that his own experience on school committees had made him familiar with the need for extensions and facilities for sport at schools. He expressed the hope that those present would generously support the fair. At the invitation of Mr Sullivan, cheers wero given for the New Brighton B'and, the conductor, Mr J. A.
