MR P. G. ROUSSELL. OTHER APPOINTMENTS MADE. (PR«S« 4880CIAT10* MLIOAAU.) WELLINGTON. December o. TJio Minister for Railways (the lit. Hon. G. ")V. Forbes) announces that Mr H. H. Sterling retires from the position of General Manager as from December 6th, and has been appointed chairman of the Railways Board from the same date, vice Colonel J. J. Esson, who has resigned. Mr P. G. Roussell, at present General Superintendent of 'Transport, has been appointed General Manager. The Board announces that Mr M. Dennchy, assistant general manager, who has retired on superannuation, will be succeeded by Mr G. IL.Mackley, chief clerk at the'railway head office. Tho Board has also made tho I°'" lowing appointments:— Mr E. Gasoy will be chief engineer, vice Mr Widdop, retired on superannuation. . He was appointed station master at Heriot in 1913, and after holding similar appointments elsewhere, entered, it® Dis-
trict Traffic Manager's office in Wellington in 1920. He was chief clerk at Ohakune from 1926 to 1928, and was selected in 1928 -to bo chief in the head office in Wellington. M© has been engaged on special work for the Department in connexion with the Railway Appeal Board, and also upon staff establishment matters.
