PRAYERS FOR CHINA. PRESIDENT AND CHRISTIAN MISSIONARIES. (CMTtO PRESS ASSOCIATION —BY ELECTRIC, YELBOSAPa—COPTBIOHT.) SHANGHAI. December 3. Expressing the hope that 'the Christian Church would assist toward a just and peaceful settlement of the Chinese-Japanese conflict, the President of the Republic General Chiang Kai-shek, solemnly entertained 26 foreign missionaries of every denomination at a dinner. The President recently embraced Christianity through the Methodist Episcopal Church. Has wife is also'a Christian, and helped to entertain at tho President's N.auking residence. General Chiang Kai-shek told the missionaries that China was at the crossroads of peace and Bolshevism, and urged his guests to pray for China. All present engaged in prater. The President said nothing about the many Christian missionaries brutally murdered in the territon' under Nationalist control in recent years. The missionaries presented General Chiang Kai-shek and liis wife with a Bible, an/1 pledged Christianity's support to the peace movertient.

TOKTO, December 4. • It is reported, but not confirmed, that Chinese forces aro advancing ou Mukden from Ohinchow. , RESTORING MAN CHU EMPEROR. NOBILITY CREATED. (Received December sth, 1,25 a.m.) SHANGHAI, December 4. ' A Mukden message to-iay. strengthens the rumour of the impending restoration of the Monarchy in Manchuria, the enthronement of the former Emperor Puyi, lately known as plain Mr Henry Puyi, the last of the Manchus. Mr Puyi, it' is reported, is already creating- an order of nobility. Yu Chunchan, a member of the local Peace . Preservation Committee, as been created' duke. Other members have been given similar titles.
