- CONCERT. The Christchureh .Municipal Bund, under the leadership of Mr J. Isioblo,. will, play at tho pier rotunda to-mor-row afternoon at 3 o'clock. Sutherland as beach patrol from December 21st, for I at least six weeks, will noted with satisfaction by those who' know Mr Sutherland. Mr Sutherland ia club captain, and has been intere/ted in life' saving wofk since 1922. He is at present club champion boltman,' and has the advantage of knowing the beach thoroughly. He will be on duty every flay except Sunday, when the club will •bo responsible for the safety of tho bathers. Bowing. Eodcliffs Gardens,. Under the auspices of the IJedclifTs Burgesses' Association, judging of the gardens entered in the garden competition -was undertaken last Saturday by Messrs Barnett, Shanks, and.Gilpin, o"f the Horticultural Society, to whom the Association is deeply indebted for their valuable assistance. Despite the bad weather immediately before the judging, the judges spoke highly of the care bestowed upon the gardens by their owners. The results were: — , Hill competition—Mrs S. P.
