At the conclusion of the programme a, vote of than]?? was passed to Mr G. Ilarrell for bringing tho concert party out from Christphurch. The balance-sheet was read, and revealed a successful financial year. Thanks was extended to teachers _ who had assisted in tho work. The distribution of prizes brought a pleasant evening to a close. SPRINGFIELD. A combined sports meeting of Kowai, Russell's Flat, Amiat, and Springfield Schools was held/ jn thg 4>omain on Wednesday,' and very happy time was spent by adult® and children alike. The shield given by the TWwera County Council about 12 year* sgp to be competed for by thd schools in the county was again won by Spfinjgfield School. Mr Millar, chairman of the Tawera Council, congratulated the Springfield School on winning t}ie shield- The relay race had beeij very evenly contested, and he hqped there would be as keen competition for it next year.
