DIRECT ROUTE TO RICCARTON.
DOMAINS BOARD'S • ATTITUDE. SUGGESTED ROAD THROUGH HAGLEY PARK. Evidence of wide public interest in tho suggestion that a more direct route to Riccarton should be provided by making a new road through North Hagley Park to connect Armagh street with Riccarton road was given at yesterday's meeting pi the Christchurch. Domains Board, when the chairman (Mr H. Kitson) defined the Board's attitude in the matter. Mr Kitson said that Tie did not_ know if one was taking too much notice of what appeared in the newspapers with regard to the suggested road from Armagh street bridge to the Riccarton Hotel, but he had been rung up by a number of people who feared that the road was going through. He wished to make an announcement from the chair that it was not being considered by the Board.
