BURWOOD.
The Hut-wood Public Library Committee held a euchre social in aid of the library funds. There was a good attendance arid a very enjoyable evening was spent. The committee of the Bar wood Hall held a social and dance in order to defray the coat of the piano recently procured There was a good gathering and dancing was indulged m to a lato hour Mr F. Ilea by was M.0., and the Revellers' Dance Band provided the music. The "lucky spot" was won by Miss Muriel Aldridge and Mr Noel The Bui wood Progress! ve Association cave a return carl and dance social to the 4ranui Burgesses Association. There was a crowded attendance. The JS Of the card garru* was a win for Aranm by <6 to p4 S ,"P? e * nrovided, and dancing was kept up to a hour. A Monte Carlo prize, fnven by Mr ftm, Robinson was won fc v Miss Jean Robinson and Mr Les. Wcathcrnll. Mrs Ross-Smith was at tfte piano.
