HARMONIC SOCIETY'S CONCERT.
—; « • • CIVIC THEATRE. The programme to be submitted by the Ohoir of the Christchurch Harmonic Society to-night and Saturday promises to be one of the most enjoyable yet given. This is to be the jast concert under the successful guidance of Madame Ottiee, and both the Choir and Madame' have worked very, hard to make it a real success. The works chosen are Elgar's "The Banner of St. George" and Edward German's "A Princess of Kensington." It would be difficult to choose two compositions more unlike than these two, and they provide an excellent entertainment. v The soloists chosen are Mrs J. P. Tempero, • Miss Sylvia Angus, and Mr Douglas Suckling. Miss Marjorie Alexander will be solo pianist, end Miss Blanche Atkinson accompanist. In addition, two part-songs will be included. Gustav Hoist's "O Sing as Thrushes" and Eaton Famming's '.'Moonlight." So far as is known this will be the first performance in New Zealand of "A Pripceas of Kensington," and its production will be awaited with great interest. The booking is at Chas. Begg and Company.
